To many Second life is just a game , to many more it is simply an extension of their Real Life.
People from all walks of life meet, play and work in this virtual world of Second Life. They form friendships across the oceans, strangers talk to and help strangers more easily than they do in real life. The real life street sweeper and CEO become friends based on common interests, intuition and nothing more.
Skill and knowledge is shared freely, enabling others to grow and discover talents unthought of. You will find the best of people here and also the worst, depending on your expectations. but I have to say the former far out weigh the latter and I’ve been blessed by many long term wonderful friends and mentors.
There may be over a million residents in SL but for most of us it’s very much like a village where we care about our nieighbors and our neighbors friends. We may not know them personally but they are part of this exciting rapidly evolving technology, so we feel a connection.
I started this blog because I have a birthday wish ( Huge hugs and thank you to everyone who is making this come true). I have met many passionate and dedicated people in the last week and one of those is Poppy Zabelin.
Poppy just posted a live from SL tribute video for Lachlan Campbell from the SL Relay for Life Team, The Relay Rockers. Lachlan lost his courageous battle againt cancer on April 27,2009.
Thank you poppy for sharing this beautiful song.
